One of the most important fights in the history of Polish prize fighting will take place on September 17th 2016 in ERGO ARENA.
This very special night will belong to WBO Jr. Heavyweight Champion Krzysztof Głowacki and London 2012 Olympic Games gold medalist Oleksandr Usyk. Both boxers are undefeated in their professional careers. Famous Klitschko brothers take care of the Ukrainian who makes it up to them, constantly knockouting his opponents. Many experts see Usyk as a future champion in Jr. Heavyweight category. So far it’s Głowacki who owns the title. Polish boxer from Wałcz got this trophy in a marvelous fight, winning over the previous champion, Marco Huck. In April 2016 „Główka” defended his belt for the first time, defeating Steve Cunningham via points decision. Polish-Ukrainian top Jr. Heavyweight clash will be the first World Championship fight in Poland since 2012. Yet, this will be Głowacki’s first fight in front of his audience since winning the World Boxing Organization title. By bringing the Olympic Games champion to Poland Organizers of the gala: Sferis KnockOut Promotions and Babilon Promotion made a dream of many local fans come true. And so this fight will be the second prestigious Polsat Boxing Night of the year.
