and other musical hits from Hollywood

December 2015 is when the famous quotation: “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” will be heard in the cinemas for the 7th time – the premiere of “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is coming up very soon!

Also in December, in ERGO ARENA, for the first time in Poland, the very new and composed for the jubilee extensive suite of “Star Wars” by John Williams will to be heard. This composer has already got 49 Oscar nominations (won five statuettes!) while his soundtrack from “Star Wars” was voted in 2005 by American Film Institute the best soundtrack ever!

The repertoire of maestro Williams includes suites from “Saving Private Ryan” and “Schindler’s List” – soundtracks that are also known for the absolute top of film scores. These, as well as melodies from “Superman”, “Jurassic Park” and “Jaws” will be performed in ERGO ARENA this year.

The show includes also musical compositions from contemporary blockbusters: Patrick Doyle’s epic suite from “Thor”, rousing John Powell’s composition from “X-Men: The Last Stand”, unique “Spider-Man” written by Danny Elfman, and, finally, the groundbreaking “Avatar” by James Horner. Fans of film scores will know now what to expect in the next scenes.

All songs will be performed by Sinfonia Iuventus and Warsaw University of Technology Academic Choir under the baton of Maciej Sztora. The concert will provide a spectacular setting for light illumination, fragments of films and the most famous film moments.
